Title: Unexpected Developments
Author: [personal profile] mific
Pairing: Rodney McKay/John Sheppard
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 14,365
Warnings: It’s apocafic, eventually, but people aren't the main casualty here. There's a brief mention of suicide methods in Pegasus at one point.
Notes: This is set in Vegasverse, after Series 5. The prompt used was different to the initial one I chose, as my initial story stalled and I had to start again with a fresh idea. My apologies that this is so late, but it got long - way longer than I'd anticipated.
Prompt for this story was: (Any character) "Without wanting to sound overly dramatic, the fate of the Galaxy may be at stake."
Summary: Detective John Sheppard after Vegas (S5E19). His near-fatal wound's slowly healing and he's got his old job back, but then someone turns up unexpectedly who's a greater mystery than any of the cases on John's desk, and John has to make some hard choices.

I owe you all an apology - I got called away on an emergency trip for work last week and completely forgot to open posting.

So, posting at [community profile] apocalypse_kree is now open! Post your stories at will and show us how you destroyed the world! Posting will close on January 31st February 9th, with the master list going up shortly thereafter.

Where you post your story is up to you. You can post it here or you can post it elsewhere (our collection at AO3, your own journal, etc.) and post a link here. If you post it here, please make sure your fic is under a cut.

Regardless of where you post your fic, please include the following info in your post to [community profile] apocalypse_kree:

You can include other things too, of course, if you want to: author's notes, word count, etc.

Please tag your fic according to which show(s) you're writing about.

As far as DW and LJ go, you're free to post to either or both. I'll mirror the master post on both, so everyone will eventually see all of the stories.

About warnings )

There's no posting schedule, so post whenever you like!

I'm going to leave prompt claiming open until the end of the month, for anyone struck by last-minute inspiration. You can claim a prompt here.

Hello, Stargate fans and world destroyers! This is a friendly reminder that there's just over one week left until posting opens and the worlds begin to end.

Posting will be open until the end of January, so you still have lots of time if inspiration hasn't been your friend. Feel free to cheer each other on in the comments.

I'm looking forward to seeing the myriad forms of destruction that you come up with.

Stargate fans, it's time to start destroying the world!

I've updated the spreadsheet prepared last year by a completely spectacular set of volunteers, removing prompts that were written last year and adding in this year's prompts. I'm pretty sure I got them all, but if you can't find a prompt you left, please let me know.

To claim a prompt, find one you want and then leave a comment in the spreadsheet--something along the lines of "Claimed by"--that includes a username you use either here or at AO3.

If you have trouble leaving comments there, you can comment here with your prompt instead. Please copy and paste it exactly as it appears on the spreadsheet, and please include your AO3 username if you don't have an LJ or DW account.

But before you begin any prompt claiming, I recommend:

1. Reading the rules.

2. Taking a moment to look through the spreadsheet, which is well organized but rather massive. In particular, you may want to look under the first tab, "Explanation," and scroll down to "Our categories" to see all the existing tabs. (Note that not all of the tabs will be visible without clicking the arrows.)

Prompt claiming is first come, first served. Please check that no one else has claimed your prompt before requesting one.

You can find the spreadsheet here.

This is a reminder that prompt submission for this year's round of [community profile] apocalypse_kree ends soon! You have until Sunday around noon EST to get your prompts in (or whenever I have time to post them).

Prompts can be left here and this year's rules can be found here.
skieswideopen: (SG: desert gate)
[personal profile] skieswideopen
The rules can be found here.

Call for Prompts!

1. Anyone can submit prompts, whether or not you plan on creating something.
2. Prompts must be more than one word. Traditional apocafic prompts are welcome, as well as those that put a different spin on things. Feel free to be creative. You can use specific scenarios, a series of words, lyrics (try to keep these down to a few lines), quotes, pictures (please link to and warn for non-work safe pics), episodes, etc.
3. You can choose to specify a single character, two or more characters in a platonic relationship (A & B or A & B & C), a pairing/threesome/moresome (A/B or A/B/C), or 'any' (meaning any character in any relationship). The default is 'any.'
4. Once again, there is a limit of seven new prompts per person.
5. I reserve the right to throw out prompts that are only one word, that are repeats of another prompt (unless they’re a different pairing) or that are graphic and intense. (You really have to submit something pretty sick to gross me out, so I don’t foresee this as a problem. It’s really more of a 'don't post pics of entrails' type of thing.)

TL&DR:
Specify character OR pairing OR 'team' OR 'any,' and then give a prompt of more than one word.

Note that "&" means a gen relationship (usually friendship, but you can use it for an antagonistic relationship if you like) and "/" means a sexual and/or romantic relationship.

Prompts will be taken through November 25th. Prompts will be posted around November 26th. Works are due, at the latest, by January 31st.

FYI: While you're certainly welcome to leave multiple comments as you think of more prompts, you're also welcome to leave multiple prompts in the same comment, as long as they're on different lines (with maybe an extra space in between if they run for more than one line).

If you have questions, you can ask them over here.

Another year, another round of [community profile] apocalypse_kree! This is the rules post; the prompt post will go up right after this.

Once again, we're going with a multi-fandom fest. Write a story. Make some art. Make a vid. Record some podfic. Whatever you like, as long as it involves Stargate and destroying the world! Or at least badly damaging it.

Similar to last year, there's a limit to number of prompts you can submit in order to keep the already unwieldy list from growing too much more. Once again, you'll be able to pick prompts from a list of all past prompts.

The Official Rules

The Process:

1. Interested parties will submit prompts to the prompt post.
2. I'll add the new prompts to the central prompt list.
3. Creators will claim a prompt or two that they wish to create something for.
4. Creators will have a significant amount of time to create their fanworks.
5. Creators will post their works during the week that works are due.
6. ALL SHALL ENJOY! (Also, there will probably be a master list of works at some point.)

The Timeline:

November 13th - November 25th: Prompts may be submitted.
November 26th-ish: Prompt claiming begins.
January 15th: Prompt claiming closes.
January 16th to 31st: Works can be posted during this period.

The Prompts:

It’s really more of a ‘don’t post pics of entrails’ type of thing.)

The Rules:

1. Prompts will be claimed first come/first serve. I realize this gives my half of the world a slight advantage, but I’m hoping there will be plenty of prompts, and people often take a while to decide which prompts they want.
2. You may claim up to two prompts to start.
3. You may claim your own prompts if you wish.
4. If you finish early, you're welcome to come back and claim another prompt. And then another, until we run out of time.
5. If you find a prompt isn't working for you, you're welcome to return to the claim post and trade it in for a different one at any point.
6. If you know you're not going to finish before the close of the claiming period, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know by replying to this post so that I can add your prompt back into the pot.

Note: Prompts can go over here.

Please reply to this post with questions, comments, and early notifications of inability to finish a story so that I can release your prompt back into the wild. COMMENTS ARE SCREENED. Comments and questions will be unscreened. Drop-out notifications will remain screened.

Finally, please feel free to pimp! There are some banners here. If you want to make your own, please, go ahead.

The polls are closed and it looks like we have six people interested in participating in [community profile] apocalypse_kree this year.

I'm going to go ahead with it. I'll post the all for prompts tomorrow. I expect it will be very similar to last year's.

Would any of the people involved in creating the prompt spreadsheet last year like to take charge of that again this year? If not, I'll do it, of course, but let me know.

Get ready to destroy the world again!

I have a poll up for gauging interest in another round of Apolcalypse Kree. Go here or here to vote. Please only vote in one of the two polls.

Voting will close Sunday at 7 p.m. EST. I'll post a decision about whether to hold another round on Sunday evening.

I originally posted this over at LJ, but as I know some people have left LJ, I thought I'd better re-post it here.

It's that time again: I'm here to gauge interest in another round of [community profile] apocalypse_kree. If you're still around and still interested in creating something for [community profile] apocalypse_kree, please fill in the poll below. If we get enough people who want to write, I'll run it again, with posting to come sometime next year.

Please only vote in ONE poll, either at LJ or here.

This poll is closed.

A quick note: Since no one objected to us using DW in some form, I'm going to back up [livejournal.com profile] apocalypse_kree over there. I'll post here once it's done.

As far as the next round goes, the results were mixed, so I think I'll ask again closer to the date and see how people feel at that point.

Given the recent changes to LJ's TOS and the subsequent migration to Dreamwidth, I'm considering either backing up [livejournal.com profile] apocalypse_kree over there, or just moving the whole community over. Before I do, how do you all feel about that?

If you participate as either a writer or reader in [livejournal.com profile] apocalypse_kree and have an opinion on LJ vs. DW, please fill in the poll below.

The stories! )

Title: No Plan Survives Contact With The Enemy
Author: mific
Rating: Explicit
Fandom: SGA/SG1
Pairings: John Sheppard/Ronon Dex, Rodney McKay/Jennifer Keller
Wordcount: ~10,700
Warnings: Post-apocalyptic so massive population loss. Major character loss (probably death) prior to the series (check the notes below). Story contains issues around religious belief.
Prompt: "It was a long way to travel, and they weren't sure who would be there when they arrived."
Summary: It was a very different world now.
Notes: This is a non-Stargate Earth-based AU that continues my series The Rapture. This (probably final) part of the series has been a ridiculous number of years coming, so apologies for that.

Briefly, this is a post-apocalyptic AU where John and Ronon (ex-cops from what used to be the Vegas PD) are together and are parenting Torren in Teyla's Las Vegas apartment, after Teyla and much of the world’s population—anyone who believed in gods or supernatural beings—vanished in beams of white light up into alien spaceships. Rodney worked at Area 51 and knew Teyla, but not John or Ronon. After "the Rapture”, he liberated a Humvee and drove to Teyla’s place, and has now joined forces with Ronon and John. In this story they hit the road, as it's too hard to survive in Vegas any more with easily-scavenged supplies running low. Rodney's heard about this place in Colorado, though . . .
roeskva: Jolinar confronts the ashrak (attack)
[personal profile] roeskva
Title: Alone
Rating: PG-13/R
Pairing(s): None
Character(s): Sam, Jolinar, Teal'c
Warnings: Lots and lots of major and minor character deaths. Violence. Some amount of gore. Description of less-than pleasant human-to-alien transformations.
Prompt: Sam. She wakes up in sickbay after some injury that left her unconscious for a couple days. She finds the SGC is completely empty, with no signs of fighting.
Summary: Sam wakes up in the infirmary with no memory of what has happened. She finds the corridors and rooms of the base empty, and she fears no one else is left alive at the SGC. She will soon learn something that makes her wish that had been the case.
