Prompt: 175. Gen/Team OR Sam/Jack. At the end of the episode ‘200’ (Season 10), O’Neill, Carter, Daniel, Vala, Mitchell, Landry and Walter go through the Stargate to some kind of celebration. While they are off-world, North Korea (or some equally unstable government or terrorist group) launches a first strike of nuclear weapons on the US, and through either luck or good intel, one of their first targets is NORAD and Cheyenne Mountain.
Notes: Written for apocalypse_kree. The apocalypse came when they weren't looking. SG-1 after Earth. My thanks to annerbhp for betaing and hand-holding duties--any and all mistakes are mine alone, but this story is stronger (and titled) because of her.
