Call for Prompts!

1. Anyone can submit prompts, whether or not you plan on creating something.
2. Prompts must be more than one word. Traditional apocafic prompts are welcome, as well as those that put a different spin on things. Feel free to be creative. You can use specific scenarios, a series of words, lyrics (try to keep these down to a few lines), quotes, pictures (please link to and warn for non-work safe pics), episodes, etc.
3. You can choose to specify a single character, two or more characters as friends or enemies (A & B or A & B & C), a pairing/threesome/moresome (A/B or A/B/C), or 'any' (meaning any character in any relationship). The default is 'any.'
4. Because we already have so many prompts to draw on, I'm imposing a limit of seven (7) prompts per person. Think carefully about exactly which prompts you want to see!
5. I reserve the right to throw out prompts that are only one word, that are repeats of another prompt (unless they’re a different pairing) or that are graphic and intense. (You really have to submit something pretty sick to gross me out, so I don’t foresee this as a problem. It’s really more of a ‘don’t post pics of entrails’ type of thing.)

TL&DR:
Specify character OR pairing OR 'team' OR 'any,' and then give a prompt of more than one word.

Note that "&" means a gen relationship (usually friendship, but you can use it for an antagonistic relationship if you like) and "/" means a sexual and/or romantic relationship.

Prompts will be taken through November 12th. Prompts will be posted November 13th or 14th. Works are due, at the latest, by January 31st.

FYI: While you're certainly welcome to leave multiple comments as you think of more prompts, you're also welcome to leave multiple prompts in the same comment, as long as they're on different lines (with maybe an extra space in between if they run for more than one line).

SGA Show, Any character(s) - Wraith Worshipers & Prophecy of the Great Wraith Awakening. “I dream of a day when they may rise above the billows to drag down in their reeking talons the remnants of puny, war-exhausted mankind” (Excerpt from H.P. Lovecraft's Dagon)

SGA Show, Any character(s) - the mice Dr. Beckett used in the development of his ATA gene therapy (SGA episode “Hide and Seek”) escape lab containment and spread throughout Atlantis. The Ancient genes introduced into their chromosomes not only allow the mice to open doors & turn on Ancient devices - they also give the rodents human-like intelligence. And since the mice did not appreciate being the test subjects of the good doctor they take revenge on the city's inhabitants. Will our heroes be able to stop the vermin infestation before it's too late? Or will the Murines have the last laugh?

SGA/SG-1 Crossover, Kiryk & Ruslan Chernovshev - the Runner & the Russian: One was evading the Wraith hunting him. The other was fleeing from the destruction of Earth. It was pure coincidence that they met each other. (Both Col. Ruslan Chernovshev (SG-1 episode “Full Alert”) and the teleporting runner Kiryk (SGA episode “Tracker”) were played by the actor Mike Dopud; you get bonus points if you can incorporate Dopud's other characters, such as SGU's Varro for example, into the story)

Aw, man. Maybe I subconsciously picked it up there during the overhaul I had the other day in the Team-only category. Oh well, I think I'll switch it out then with something different. I'll come back to edit my original post when I've thought of a new one. :)

Prompts for any show:

Any – a child of one or more of the show’s heroes travel’s back in time, claiming that they’re there to help the S.G.C. avoid doom at the hands of [Big Bad of your choice]. Except it turns out that the time-traveling progeny is working for the bad guys all along.


SG1 Prompts:

Any – Orlin is unable to stop Colonel Reynolds from shooting the Veloran superweapon. ‘The Others’ are displeased. (AU of S 5, ep. 3 “Ascension”)

Any – the Ori invasion of Orilla as seen through the eyes of an Asgard and/or an Ori crusader.

Any – episode “The Tomb” goes different and either Dr. Alexander Britski’s or Col. Alexi Zukhov’s team retrieves the Eye of Tiamat from Marduk’s ziggurat, sending it through the Stargate for study in Russia. Anubis finds out that the Tau’ri possess the eye and, knowing he can’t complete his planet-killing doomsday-device without all the eyes, he sends an invasion force to Earth much earlier than in canon to claim Marduk’s weapon for himself.

Any Prior!Asguard – “Hallowed are the Ori.”

Any – Continuum AU. Ever since Ba’al’s rise to power the Tok’Ra Resistance has found itself pushed to the brink – having lost more of their bases and operatives in a span of a few decades fighting Ba’al than they had over the last two thousand years battling the other System Lords, the Tok’Ra are nearing extinction. It is then that a Tok’Ra outpost picks up a mysterious subspace signal being transmitted across the galaxy. The message is encrypted in a cypher previously used by Jolinar of Malkshur and, once decoded, reads: “This is Col. Samantha Carter of the Tau’Ri. Ba’al has gathered the System Lords to attack our world – their ships are already hanging in our orbit. We possess a Weapon of the Ancients capable of destroying Ba’al’s fleet but we lack the means to power it. If there are any Tok’Ra left out there, you must find the power source on [gate coordinates to Proclarush Taonas] and bring it to Earth. It is the only chance we have to end Ba’al’s plan and save both our people.”

Crossover prompts:

Any – the war against the Ori is going badly – their ships prove to be nearly impervious to everything Earth and her allies throw at them while the Ori cruiser’s weapons are able to cut through anything like hot knife through butter. But there is one faction out there known to have defeated a stellar power which was just as technologically advanced as the Ori… and so the N.I.D. makes a deal with the Wraith, helping their fleet reach the Milky Way in the hopes that the vampires will be able to put a dent in the Ori’s forces. Needless to say, this proves to be a grave mistake.

Loki, Cam, Sam, Daniel, Teal’c, Thor – with the survival of their race at stake Loki makes a deal with the Ori: Loki & his Asgard allies agree to convert to Origin and join the crusade if the Ori provide them with the cure to their genetic degradation/reliance on cloning. The Ori fleet, reinforced by rogue Asgard ships, storms through the Milky Way and the worlds of the Protected Planets Treaty are forced by Loki to accept Origin. With the rogue Asgard and the crusaders setting their sights on Earth, Thor & SG-1 must stop Loki before both Ida and Milky Way fall to the Ori. Fic should feature the following lines at some point: LOKI “Not only can the Ori help us reach the long-term goal of ascension, they can fulfill our immediate need for mitotic reproduction.” CAM “Oh come on, you don’t want that – sex is waaay overrated.” ; ROGUE ASGARD “Hallowed are the Ori.” DANIEL “I never thought I'd hear one of you guys say that.”

Qetesh|Vala, Cam – all hope of “fixing” the timeline flies out the window as Qetesh follows Col. Mitchell through the Stargate back to 1929 Earth at the end of Continuum.

Any – rather than trying to wipe out the Ancients using the plague millions of years ago, the Ori invade the Milky Way and make war with the Ancients on cosmic scale.

Any – after Earth falls Anubis’ crashed Hat’ak at the bottom of the ocean (from SG-1 episode “Descent”) becomes the secret underwater base for the human resistance fighting to take back the planet from the alien occupiers.

Jack, Daniel, Sam, Teal'c, anyone else. When Cassandra sends them back after they have ended up too far in the future in '1969', something goes wrong and they don't make it quite back to their own time. Instead they end up in mid-2000. By then Hathor has made her move and reappeared from obscurity to conquer Earth together with Sokar and/or Apophis.

Sam, anyone else. An alternate universes where she joined NASA instead of the Air Force. She is orbiting Earth in a spaceship when a Goa'uld arrive and attack Earth.

Jack, Daniel, Sam, Teal'c, any Tok'ra, anyone else. SG-1 is not given permission to follow up on the leads gained from Sam's memories from Jolinar and they do not meet the Tok'ra when they did on the show. A couple years later Sokar conquers Earth, and SG-1 is part of a group that forms a resistance, fighting to take back their world. They are captured and taken before Sokar's vassal - a man Sam recognizes as part of the same group Jolinar came from, the Tok'ra.

Sam, anyone else. Eventually she found a solution, but by then it was much too late.

Anyone. Each time they died they were revived, and the battle began anew.

After SG-1's little adventure at O'Malley's, they are kept under guard until the Atanik armbands fall off. Thus they are unable to destroy Apophis's mothership and he uses it to attack and conquer Earth.

Sam, anyone. It wasn't any one thing that tipped her off, but there was a lot of small little odd things.

Sam, Teal'c, Daniel, Jack, Jalen, anyone else. They failed to activate the hyperspace engines and the meteorite hit Earth. The only reason SG-1 survived was that they ejected themselves in the lifepods. What should they do now when life on Earth is all but exinguished? Time travel?

Lantash|Martouf/Sam. Sokar attack Earth and unleashes the weapons he used to turn Netu into the Hellish prison it is today. Volcanoes erupt everywhere, etc.

Any. A Goa'uld activates an energy-extintion field around Earth and now nothing works.

Any. Down in the fall-out shelter.

SG-1 (the characters), any. It had been days since any of them saw daylight.

Any. The tunnels were humid, dark, and very deep, but they weren't sure they were deep enough to protect them.

Sam, Daniel, Teal'c, Jack, Lantash|Martouf. When they stepped through the Stargate and out into the gateroom they found everyone there dead, their bodies still warm. Going through the base, which was on lockdown, it was the same. What had happened?

Any. The flourescent green rain kept falling, coloring everything. What might just have been an annoyance turned to a real danger when a sample was analyzed and found to contain countless of tiny nanites. No one knew what they would do, until three days after the rain stopped, and the nanites suddenly activated all over the planet.

Any. It was much too late when they found that Ba'al had changed the formula for the tretonin, and everyone who had used it was now highly susceptible to brainwashing by him.

John/Ronon, Caldwell's Goa'uld managed to smuggle several symbiotes onto Atlantis and by the time they were discovered Sheppard, Ronon, and several others were hosts and had taken over control of the City.

John/Nancy and/or John/Cam, Mafia AU. Sheppard was discharged/left the AF at some point before the Expedition left for Atlantis. [X] number of years later the SGC recruits him based on his gene, intelligence, and information from alternate realities, naively thinking it will make things better.

SG-1 (any version of the team), may you live in interesting times.

Any, it’s an illusion, a mirage; it’s a choice, lives and deaths that depend on him, blood on his hands whether he stays or goes. (Not McShep).

John & Teyla & Ronon & part of SG-1, it was supposed to be an easy mission, to let 3/4's of SGA-1 blow off some steam while McKay met his potential father-in-law and to test fly one of the Jumpers for use on Milky Way missions, but next thing they know Earth is gone and someone's following them.

Any shows, any characters, everything has gone wrong and the only choices left are a) a risky attempt at time travel which could leave them at any point in time, b) buy themselves more time (and knowledge) by becoming Tok'ra hosts (either in the present or the past), or c) keep fighting until there's no one left.
